JIN JUA
Jua Jin, daughter of a haenyeo, reinterprets her mother’s legacy through artworks made from discarded diving suits. Her sculptures resemble fantastical sea creatures—both haunting and beautiful—symbolizing memory, identity, and inherited trauma. Drawing from Jeju’s myths and marine realities, Jin merges personal history with collective narratives, exploring womanhood, environmental decline, and repressed emotion. Her creatures, shaped by imagination and subconscious desire, reflect the tension between myth and reality, past and present, self and other.
